NANOLEK has signed a memorandum of intent to cooperate within the project to establish the Biotechnology Industrial Cluster of the Kirov Region.

The memorandum provides for cooperation between the parties in the development and establishment of the cluster, as well as the exploration of NANOLEK’s potential participation in its activities. The document was signed on July 7, 2026, during the INNOPROM 2026 International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg. The memorandum was signed by Evgeny Toropov, Director of the Kirov Region State Industrial Development Fund, and Valentin Dodonov, Director for Government Affairs and Market Access at the biopharmaceutical company NANOLEK.

The Biotechnology Industrial Cluster is being established to strengthen cooperation between industrial enterprises, research and educational institutions, government authorities, and development organizations. Its key objectives include enhancing the competitiveness of regional companies, promoting import substitution and exports, attracting investment, developing new industrial products, and reinforcing the industrial potential of the Kirov Region.

Today, NANOLEK is one of the leading biopharmaceutical companies in the region and has ranked among the Kirov Region’s largest taxpayers for five consecutive years. The company is implementing major investment projects, expanding high-tech manufacturing of medicines and vaccines, creating skilled jobs, and actively contributing to workforce development through its partnership with Vyatka State University. In 2025, NANOLEK launched Russia’s first full-cycle manufacturing facility for a vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV), marking an important milestone in the development of the country’s vaccine industry.

Valentin Dodonov, Director for Government Affairs and Market Access at NANOLEK, said:

“NANOLEK has been operating in the Kirov Region for more than ten years, and for us it is much more than a manufacturing site—it is where we implement projects of national significance. The biotechnology cluster will create stronger links between industry, science, and government across the region. We are ready to contribute to this initiative by sharing the expertise we have gained while establishing Russia’s first full-cycle manufacturing facility for an HPV vaccine.” The signed memorandum marks the first stage of cooperation between the parties within the framework of the Biotechnology Industrial Cluster project in the Kirov Region.
